Pete Briley was born in Kent in 1987, not too long before the hurricane.

Beginning his career in the city of Leeds, Pete's profile began to rise as he performed alongside the likes of Alex Cornish, Frank Turner, Jon Gomm, Micky P Kerr and Ashley Hicklin and he began to attract the attention of the local music community.

Over the past four years, Pete has featured on BBC 6Music, BBC York, BBC Leeds, Radio Aire, BBC Kent, and KMFM as well as a number of community and student radio stations across the country. He also recieved critical acclaim for his live performances and records, a selection of which can be seen in the press section of this website. He has toured the uk three times, featured as a resident musician at the Harrogate International Festival, performed in front of thousands at the Sport Releif event and successfully self-released his debut ep, 'Roads to Rome' in 2008.

2008 also saw Pete awarded the title 'Bright Young Thing' by the Leeds Guide and City Council, declaring him one of the 15 best acts in Leeds of that year. In 2009, Pete won Playmusic Pickup Magazine's 'Best Unsigned Solo Act' award and moved south.

Pete released his single 'Semantics' through Tin Robot Records in October 2009, after recieving a number of slightly unfavourable offers from various other indie labels.

In 2010, Pete expanded his live lineup to feature Chris Cassar on upright bass and Jacob Daniel Day on percussion. The band's new sound is distinctive, original and exciting and once again marked Pete Briley out as one of the most enterprising and dynamic artists in the UK.

Between September and November 2009, Pete wrote a series of articles for Playmusic Pickup, giving advice to musicians wishing to remain independent and interested in self-releasing their material. He loves to read and enjoys poetry and football.
